Deepali Sain

As an ardent student of law, Deepali Sain considered it prudent to develop a global mindset and learn the corporate law, statutory law and regulations to deal with the legality of commercial transactions. With her background in commerce, she wanted to leverage her mathematical and analytical skills in understanding business laws and deal with a wide range of issues related to corporate finance and taxation, business formations, acquisitions, mergers, employment/ labor laws, contract negotiations and litigation. Hence, she aspired to do an LL.M. in business law.

During her bachelor’s degree in commerce from University of Delhi, she was amazed at the regulations under which companies were required to operate, which motivated her to pursue the course of Company Secretary in India. While the course provided her thorough grounding in different fields of law, training and internships helped her gain practical experience. She worked as company secretary and legal advisor for nearly three years, which exposed her to various corporate laws, business laws and regulations, and the extent of compliance in the real world. She is also an activist for child development and education, and is associated with many NGOs in her home country.

Upon completing her LL.M. degree, her long-term goal is to work as a legal advisor for leading corporations. She aspires to uphold the highest standards of corporate governance and materially contribute to the corporate world. Sain chose classes that would bolster her training as a litigator, including Closely Held Business Organizations, Corporations and Securities Regulation. She is expected to graduate this spring with an LL.M. in business law.
