Advanced Criminal Law (3 credits)

Why are some activities or omissions crimes and not others? In this seminar we will be tackling this issue by focusing on one of the most important issues society has to face: the laws, principles, and policies governing the definition of criminal offenses and defenses.  Topics range from terrorism to sex work to intellectual property. A handful of guest speakers will join us through the semester. The seminar fulfills the upper level writing requirement and requires no other prerequisites than first year criminal law. Prerequisites: None
