Ervin Chair Seminar: The Solicitor General & Appellate Policy (2 credits)

The purpose of the Ervin Chair Seminar is to provide students at the College of Law an opportunity to develop analytical legal skills by working on projects related to the work of the Florida Solicitor General’s Office.

This particular seminar is designed to acquaint students with contemporary legal and appellate policy issues that arise in cases to which the state of Florida is a party or participates as amicus curie. The class will meet for two hours once a week to discuss cases or topics designated by the Solicitor General for review and examination. Students will be assigned to work on selected issues in such cases or on such topics. Each student will prepare and present either a legal memorandum or a policy paper related to their assigned case or topic.
