Legal Negotiations (2 credits)

This course will introduce the student pragmatically to better lawyering through legal negotiations by means of reading material, class discussion, and practical exercises. The student will be called on to analyze negotiation stages and  approaches,  to  understand and respond to factors at work in legal negotiations, to practice negotiation skills and actions required to improve negotiation results, and to critique negotiations. The goal of the course is to enable the student to gain confidence in becoming adept in negotiating reasonable solutions to legal disputes and transactions as an essential part of their legal career.
