Pro Bono Work in Environmental Law
Students are required to complete a minimum of 20 pro bono hours during their law school tenure. Florida State Law's Pro Bono Program works with 14 agencies that provide pro bono opportunities for students with a special interest in Environmental Law. These agencies include: Apalachicola Riverkeeper, Clean Water Network, Department of Environmental Protection, Earthjustice, Everglades Law Center, Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Hopping Green & Sams, Lake Jackson Alliance, Ochlockonee River Soil & Water Conservation District, The Nature Conservancy, Surfrider, The Trust for Public Land, Wildlaw and 1000 Friends of Florida. Additionally, pro bono credit has been made available to students assisting J.B. Ruhl, Matthews & Hawkins Professor of Propety, with an ecosystem research project.
Together, 36 students have completed more than 1,000 hours of pro bono work in two years.
