The Humanizing Legal Education Listserv

The Humanizing Legal Education Listserv, started by Professor Larry Krieger in 1999, originated as a forum to discuss the ways we conduct legal education, and the impact those choices may have on the attitudes, values, needs , health and well-being of law students and lawyers.  The listserv consists of an active and vibrant community of legal professionals concerned with matters of interest to members of the Section on Balance in Legal Education.

The volume of messages is generally quite low, but many posts have led to fascinating and enriching interchanges. Some discussions of interest are posted here:

TO SUBSCRIBE: Go to https://lists.fsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/law-legaled and complete the short form under the heading Subscribing to Law-legaled.  The system will reply and provide you with a welcome message and a password, which provides security and activates the subscription to the list. If you forget your password, there is a reminder option on the page. If you encounter problems with this procedure please contact Professor Larry Krieger.

LIMITATION: In order to minimize e-mail traffic and encourage membership on the list, please keep your messages within the stated purposes of the list. The list owner will, if necessary, moderate the list or amend its membership in order to keep the discussion progressive and within its intended purposes. Other restrictions may be imposed to avoid commercial or obscene messages, etc. List membership is expected to be composed primarily of legal educators, although attorneys, judges, law students and others are welcome to participate.

REPLIES: Please note that replies to posted messages will reach the entire list only if "REPLY TO ALL" is selected; if "REPLY" is selected, only the originator of the message will receive your reply. This should help avoid unintended messages to the group.

HELP: If you need help or are unable to eliminate problems given the instructions in the welcome message, please e-mail the list owner, Professor Larry Krieger and copy your message to helpdesk@law.fsu.edu.
