Externship Applications
Application forms are now available for the upcoming Fall 2012 semester and will be accepted only during the advertised application period:
Monday, March 12 through 4 p.m., Thursday, March 22
Links to the various application forms are provided below (Word documents). You may complete the application form on your computer or you may complete it by handwriting in your responses. Either way, you must submit a hard copy of the completed application form with your original signature/initials. E-mailed application forms will not be accepted nor considered. You must review the materials on the Externship Web page prior to completing your application form.
Criminal Practice Clinic — This application is for the class that is a prerequisite for the prosecutor/defender externship, for Fall 2012 only. For planning purposes, this class is not offered in the summer.
State Attorney/Public Defender —
This application is for the prosecutor or defender externship and should be submitted only if you have taken the Criminal Practice Clinic or are currently enrolled in it and plan to do the externship in the upcoming Fall 2012 semester.
Innocence Project OR U.S. Attorney —
This application form is for the Innocence Project or the U.S. Attorney externship, for Fall 2012 only.
Civil, Judicial, Appellate
(including International) —
This application form is for a myriad of externships — civil externships (environmental, labor/employment, local government, etc.), legal services, international, judicial externships (Bankruptcy, Supreme Court, Circuit Court, First District Court of Appeal, etc.), and appellate externships (attorney general, public defender, etc.), for Fall 2012 only.
