If the applicant's native language is not English, the applicant must take the TOEFL. For admission, a student must achieve a score of at least 98 points on the Internet-based TOEFL with minimum scores of 22 in each section. If the applicant received his or her undergraduate or first law degree from an institution in which the language of instruction was English, the applicant may request a waiver of the TOEFL requirement in writing with the application. Such a waiver is at the discretion of the admissions committee.

At the time you register to take the TOEFL, request that your test scores be sent to Florida State University to avoid delays in processing your application. Florida State University's institutional code number is 5219. You should send a copy of your TOEFL scores with your application. However, official scores must be forwarded to FSU by the testing agency for the applicant's file to be deemed complete.
