Professor David E. Adelman holds the Harry Reasoner Regents Chair in Law at the University of Texas School of Law. He teaches and writes in the areas of environmental law, intellectual property law, and law and science. Professor Adelman's research focused on the many interfaces between law and science. His articles have addressed such topics as the tensions between legal and scientific evidentiary standards in regulatory decision making, and development of effective policies for promoting innovation relevant to addressing climate change, and more recently empirical studies of clean air regulations and environmental litigation. Professor Adelman received a B.A. from Reed College, a Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School. Prior to entering academia, Professor Adelman was a Senior Attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council and an associate with the law firm Convington & Burling in Washington, D.C.
