Why did you choose the College of Law?
I chose FSU Law because it has a great location in the heart of Florida, and the many opportunities that open just from being a student at the law school. I really felt like FSU law was a welcoming environment for a new law student, and I've found that the 1L class is really like a family, especially within your sections. The school was supportive and challenging at the same time, and offered specialized programs for environmental law as well as new dual-degree programs that other schools did not offer.

What has been your favorite course since starting your legal education?
My favorite course was torts with Professor Kahn and his dry humor. The course illustrated all of the unique and wild things that people can sue for. It really showed the lengths that civil litigation can encompass and how individuals can find legal support in areas that may not be covered by criminal laws.

Which student services office has been particularly helpful to you during your time at the College of Law?
The Placement Office has been immensely helpful in my first semester of school. From mandatory meetings that explained the Bar application process, to reviewing each 1L's resume and connecting them with alumni in their interest fields, the Placement Office has really reached out and made it clear they are there to help students succeed.

What do you recommend to guests visiting Tallahassee?
I would have to mention two restaurants that are great for late night studying in the library and the perfect food for study sessions. The first would be Mr. Robotos, the only take-out hibachi place I have ever heard of, and the perfect way to celebrate finishing a memo! The second would be Insomnia Cookies, a cookie place that delivers still warm and gooey cookies wherever you are (including the law school)! It was definitely a high point in our late night study sessions for finals!

Fun fact about Jessica.
A fun fact about myself is that I have fallen down the front steps of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. (I was helped up by a very nice representative from Missouri, after his papers went flying as he tried to help!)
