What do you feel is unique about being a student at the College of Law?
I think that being a student at the College of Law is unique because of the family atmosphere and environment. I have a couple of friends who are students at different law schools around the country and I hear from them about the highly competitive and aggressive dynamic of their classes, which I am so thankful that I haven't experienced. At FSU, I truly believe that everyone wants their peers to do well, because in the long run we want everyone to be successful. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to ask one of my classmates to help me understand a concept I was struggling with, and I think that’s one of the best things about the culture at FSU.

Why do you want to be an attorney?
I want to be an attorney because I think that it provides me with opportunities that I would otherwise not be able to experience. I really want to go into the business side of sports and entertainment and being a lawyer allows me the opportunity to experience those industries in a unique way. The legal profession opens up your career prospects, and I'm excited to see where it will take me.

Which College of Law student organization stands out to you?
The Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Society stands out to me because it allowed me to get more information about the area of law I'm interested in starting as a 1L. Within my first month at the College of Law I was able to attend a lunch with the general counsel from International Speedway Corporation, a job that I would love to have one day. I wasn’t really sure what kind of law I wanted to practice, but EASL brought out my passion for sports and entertainment and is why I decided to intern in the contracts department of Universal Parks and Resorts.

What do you recommend to guests visiting Tallahassee?
I think that going to an FSU baseball game is a must for anyone who happens to be in Tallahassee in the spring! The weather is great, the atmosphere is electric thanks to the Animals of Section B, and it's even a great place to study or do homework if you're looking for a change of scenery.

Fun fact about Laura.
I've been to almost every FSU home football game since I was 5!
