What advice would you offer to a new incoming 1L law student?
I would tell them to step out of their comfort zone and to interact with 2L and 3L students who have gone through the same experiences the 1L would be going through. The advice that can be imparted from one year to the next is invaluable.

Why did you choose the College of Law?

The atmosphere at FSU is more collegial than any other program I have visited. Even though law school places you on a curve, the students and faculty here at FSU Law are a team with the common goal of becoming successful lawyers. Law school is stressful enough without a hostile environment surrounding it and FSU has done a great job at mitigating those issues.

What makes our alumni network special?
Our alumni, like our student body, are friendly and outgoing. They are willing to give advice and mentor you through your transition into the legal profession and that support is more valuable than any textbook you can buy. Understanding legal theory and honing analytical skill is important, but never underestimate the value of practical experience.

What has been your favorite course or who has been your favorite professor since starting your legal education?

Professor Bayern was the first lecturer I heard speak at the College of Law. Somehow he was able to take a subject like tax law and make it interesting. Since then, I have taken Contracts and Closely Held Business Organizations with him and have loved both classes. He truly is an inspired lecturer and keeps students engaged all class.

Which College of Law student organization stands out to you and why?
The Litigators, which is a social group of University of Florida alumni at FSU, has stood out to me because of the rivalry between UF and FSU. This organization truly helps students make the transition between the universities much more manageable. It also helps to note that there is no need to burn all of your old collegiate apparel.

Which student services office has been particularly helpful to you during your time at the College of Law?
The College of Law Placement Office has been extremely helpful to me during my time at FSU Law. They chose me along with three of my peers to participate in a Business Law Section conference in Naples which was a great opportunity. I was able to network and meet members of multiple top firms as they discussed cutting edge issues with the judges who rule on those issues.

Give one "Fun Fact" about yourself.
I love to cook and I am constantly making my girlfriend try my new creations. Sometimes it doesn’t come out according to plan, but most of the time it comes out great.
