Elmer Ignacio, a 2001 graduate of Florida State University College of Law, joined the law school administration in November 2008. He began his legal career as an assistant general counsel at the Florida Department of Health, where he prosecuted various health-care professionals including physicians and nurses. In 2003, he joined the Tallahassee office of the statewide law firm of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer and, most recently in 2007, joined the Tampa office of Cole, Scott & Kissane before coming to the law school. At both his previous firms, Elmer specialized in insurance defense litigation, with an emphasis on defending complex nursing home negligence cases. He is an active member of The Florida Bar.
Becky Marsey joined Florida State University College of Law in November 2007, serving as faculty support coordinator before becoming assistant director of the Placement Office in December 2009. Before joining the law school, Marsey served Keiser University in Tallahassee in a variety of capacities, including continuing education coordinator, student services coordinator and, most recently, director of student services. As director of student services, Marsey was responsible for providing job placement assistance to non-traditional students. She has a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology.
Guard joined Florida State University College of Law in 2009 as a
placement advisor. She has been an Assistant Attorney General for the
Criminal Appeals Section of the Florida Attorney General's office since
2005. She also is a 1999 gradate of Tulane University with a Juris
Doctor, Certificate in Maritime Law. While at Tulane, she was a member
of Phi Delta Phi, the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, the Tulane Environmental Law Journal
and the Ruby R. Vale Corporate Law Moot Court team. She is admitted to
The Florida Bar, the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh
Circuit, United States District Court for the Middle District of
Florida, United States District Court for the Northern District of
Florida, and United States District Court for the Southern District of
Florida State Law
