Florida State Law Orientation Information

Congratulations on your admission to the Florida State University College of Law. We look forward to your arrival in August!

Please be advised that our First-Year Orientation will be at the law school on Wednesday, August 20 – Thursday, August 21, 2008. Please note that all entering students are required to attend the First-Year Orientation Program. Click here to view the Orientation Schedule.

Law classes will begin on Monday, August 25, 2008.

In addition to the mandatory two-day First-Year Orientation, we also offer an optional One-Week Summer Orientation Program from August 13 - August 19, 2008. This program is offered immediately prior to the mandatory First-Year Orientation and serves as a comprehensive introduction to the first year of law school. Participants will take daily law and legal writing classes and attend various academic workshops during the week-long program. Because of the intense nature of this program, it is limited to approximately 40 entering students. Click here for an application for the One-Week Summer Orientation Program. Applications are due on or before June 30, 2008. Students selected to participate will be notified in early July.

We also offer a Transfer and Visiting Student Orientation at the law school on Monday, August 18, 2008.  This half-day orientation is voluntary for incoming transfer and visiting students wishing to receive an overview of Florida State Law.
