In recent years, Florida State University College of Law's faculty have earned national acclaim for their contributions to legal scholarship and the profession.

Faculty scholarship is notable for its quality and impact as well as its quantity. Faculty articles appear in prestigious law journals, including Harvard Law Review, Yale Law Journal, Stanford Law Review, Michigan Law Review, Virginia Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and Journal of Legal Studies.

Additionally, law schools nationally use books written by our faculty in areas such as Criminal Law, Endangered Species Law, Energy Law, Environmental Law, First Amendment Law, International Intellectual Property, Law and Economics, Law and Religion, Ocean and Coastal Law and Tax Law.  Our faculty also regularly ranks in the top 25 most downloaded law faculty on the Social Science Research Network, with our tax faculty in the top 15.

Faculty members regularly draw on interdisciplinary insights in their work - many have Ph.D.s in cognate fields such as economics and philosophy.

Our faculty takes particular pride in teaching excellence and accessibility to students. Outside of the classroom they are committed mentors, frequently working with students on projects including publications and advocacy competitions.
