Professor Gelbach will teach Social Insurance and Statistics for Lawyers in the Fall 2006 semester and Law and Economics as well as a seminar on Empirical Law and Economics in the Spring 2007 semester. Professor Gelbach earned his Ph.D. in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He is visiting from the Economics Department at the University of Maryland, where he has established himself as a leading empiricist studying the economics of social insurance programs
