Professor Alces’ scholarship focuses on the intersection of corporate and bankruptcy law. Recently, she has particularly focused on corporate governance in bankruptcy. She will teach corporate and bankruptcy courses.
Prior to joining the Florida State University College of Law faculty, Professor Alces taught at the University of Richmond School of Law as a visiting professor. Before entering academia, she was an associate at the Chicago law firm of Gardner, Carton & Douglas.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, Champaign, she was articles editor of The Elder Law Journal and won the Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Publication.
