Education Dean Catalano graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1997. She began her legal career as an assistant state attorney in Fort Lauderdale and served as an assistant general counsel for the Florida Department of Health for several years. She then worked as an assistant attorney general in Tallahassee where she represented the Florida Board of Nursing, the Florida Board of Dentistry, and the Florida Board of Medicine, Credentials Committee in litigation and appeals. Additionally, she has worked for both radio and television news organizations. She joined the administration of the law school in January 2005 as the director of the Placement Office, and became assistant dean for administration in 2007. She then served as the executive director of the Florida Elections Commission. Prior to returning to the law school in 2012 as assistant dean for placement, she served as a part-time J.D. advisor, counseling law students. She has been an active member of The Florida Bar, The District of Columbia Bar, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, the Government Bar Association, and Tallahassee Women Lawyers.
