Shelley Smith is a visiting assistant professor for the 2008/2009 academic year. Professor Smith graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1988, where she served as a managing editor of the Columbia University Journal of Law and Social Problems and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She worked as an equity partner for Jenner & Block, where she developed extensive knowledge of civil and criminal litigation in the areas of intellectual property, antitrust, class actions and securities fraud. Professor Smith’s research interests focus on Federal Courts/Conflict of Laws and Mediation/Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Professor Smith will teach Contracts and a seminar on Negotiations in the fall 2008 semester and will teach Constitutional Law II and Conflicts of Law in the spring.
