Dean Williams is an honors graduate of Florida State University College of Law, Class of 1995. She was a member of the editorial board of the Florida State University Law Review, and received the Meritorious Service Award for her contributions to the journal. While a student, she also was a member of the Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law, and the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy. After graduating from law school, she joined the Tallahassee law firm of Ausley & McMullen as a litigation associate.

In 1997, the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar recognized her as Florida's Most Productive Young Lawyer. She joined the administration of the law school in 1999 as Director of Career Placement, and became Associate Dean for Administration in 2000. Dean Williams was appointed Assistant Dean for Development in 2007.

Dean Williams is very active in the state and local legal community. She is a member of the Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court, the Tallahassee Bar Association and the Tallahassee Women Lawyers Association. She also serves on The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism and the Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee.
