Audiovisual Materials
The Research Center has a collection of audio- and videotapes which are kept in the Micromaterials Room (L206). They may be identified in the online catalog by the designations ATP (audiotape) and AVTP (videotape). Videotapes may be viewed in viewing rooms on the second floor. Carrels with built-in audiotape players are located on the third floor of the Research Center, near the staircase on the northwest wall. For assistance in locating tapes or using equipment, consult the Circulation or Reference staff.
In addition to acquiring commercially produced videotapes, the Research Center staff also produces videotapes. With advance notice, arrangements can be made to videotape classes, speakers, or special functions in the College of Law. An ongoing program involves videotaping oral arguments in the Florida Supreme court. Copies of the tapes may be viewed or purchased. To arrange to videotape an event or to obtain access to an oral argument videotape, contact the Computer/Audiovisual Services Librarian or the Video Specialist. (Please note that videotapes of classes, speakers, etc. are not normally added to the Research Center's permanent collection and do not appear in the catalog. They are kept on Reserve at the Circulation Desk. Ask there for assistance.)
