Computer Assisted Legal Research

The Law Library subscribes to LEXIS and WESTLAW, national databases of cases, statutes, law review articles, and other law-related publications. (College of Law faculty and students can also arrange for use of LEXIS and WESTLAW through their personal computers outside the Law Library. Consult the Reference Librarians for more information.) Use of LEXIS and WESTLAW is restricted to College of Law faculty and currently enrolled law students who are doing research for academic purposes only. Training on both systems is available through the Law Library to College of Law students and faculty; all first-year students are trained on the systems as part of their legal research course. Ask the Reference Librarians for information on training as well as assistance with online searching.
