TALLAHASSEE—Florida State University College of Law Dean Don Weidner announced today that Stephanie Williams has been promoted to associate dean for administration.

Williams practiced law with the Tallahassee law firm of Ausley & McMullen as a litigation associate for several years before coming to work at the law school in 1999 as director of Career Planning & Placement. She has been assistant dean for academic affairs since 2000.

The Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar recognized Williams in 1997 as Florida’s Most Productive Young Lawyer. She currently serves on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Second Judicial Circuit and on several standing committees of The Florida Bar.

Williams graduated with honors from the law school in 1995. She was a member of the editorial board of the Florida State University Law Review, and received the Meritorious Service Award for her contributions to the journal. She also was a member of the school’s Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law and the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy.

“Stephanie Williams is a phenomenally bright and productive young lawyer whose energies and dedication have helped us make the law school the dynamic place it is today,” Weidner said.
