Atlanta Alumni Couple Gives Back to the Law School with a $250,000 Gift

Jul 01, 2007

ATLANTA—With a commitment of $250,000, Atlanta couple Kevin Wood and Mary Jo Peed, both 1985 graduates of the Florida State University College of Law, have created the Kevin Wood and Mary Jo Peed Endowment for Excellence.

The income distributed from the Kevin Wood and Mary Jo Peed Endowment for Excellence can be used at the discretion of the law school to meet its most pressing needs. “In some years that might be scholarships and in others that might be merit-based bonuses for faculty,” said College of Law Dean Don Weidner.

This gift will be eligible for a 50 percent match from the State of Florida. The $125,000 state match will also be added to the endowment, creating a total endowment of $375,000.

“Kevin and I agree that the education we received at the Florida State University College of Law served as a marvelous foundation for our careers,” said Mary Jo Peed. “We both look back with great fondness on our time at Florida State, which is why we continue to support the law school under Dean Weidner’s leadership.”

Kevin Wood is Vice President, Counsel and National Business Development for Stewart Title Guaranty. Mary Jo Peed is Vice President, General Counsel for AT&T.
