TALLAHASSEE — The Florida State University College of Law Alumni Association presented its 2012 Distinguished Alum Award to Tallahassee attorney Pete Dunbar on Friday, October 26. The award recognizes an alumnus who is distinguished professionally and who has rendered outstanding service to the community as well as to the law school.

Dunbar is a named partner at Pennington, Moore, Wilkinson, Bell & Dunbar, who practices in the areas of administrative, real property and governmental law. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and as general counsel and director of legislative affairs for Florida Governor Bob Martinez. Dunbar is a widely respected expert and author on condominiums and planned communities. A 1972 graduate of the law school, Dunbar is an adjunct professor at the College of Law and serves on the Board of Visitors. He and his son, College of Law graduate Marc Dunbar (’94), have together contributed to create the Dunbar Family Endowment for Excellence at the law school.

“Pete is one of the law school’s most supportive alumni,” said Dean Don Weidner. “Most wonderfully, he has brought the next generation – through his son Marc – along for the ride.”
