Dear Prospective Law Student,
Thank you for your interest in the Florida State University College of Law. Choosing a law school with the right environment can make a great difference in your law school experience and your enjoyment of the legal education process. As you begin to make that critical decision, we would like to give you an overview of our law school.
The current student body represents 31 states, 19 countries, and 164 different undergraduate institutions. Our outstanding faculty delivers a sophisicated program of study that prepares students to enter the world of law, business or government at the highest possible level. Students at Florida State University College of Law have opportunities to interact with faculty members outside of the classroom and office hours. The faculty and administration of the law school maintain an open door policy for students.
Our students have many opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom
in the real world. Florida State’s clinical programs and location in Tallahassee
provide students a plethora of options to gain the legal experience that employers
desire. Our law school is within walking distance of the state Capitol, the Florida
Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of
Florida, and a number of government agencies. Students have a wide variety of externships, internships, clerkships, live-client clinics and co-curricular opportunities from which to choose.
