Applications are accepted between September 1 and April 1 for admissions the following August. Florida State Law enrolls only one class in the fall of each year. We do not offer a part-time or evening program. Submit and complete law school applications as early as possible. Files must be complete by April 15 to receive full consideration.
Factors considered by the admissions committee include numerical credentials (LSAT and GPA), exceptional personal talents, interesting or demanding work or service experience, leadership potential, rigorousness of the undergraduate course of study, maturity, a history of overcoming economic or other social hardships, ability to communicate effectively and other factors. Decisions on applicant files are made on a rolling basis, based on the strength of the application.
The students of Florida State Law are one of its greatest strengths. For 2009, the college received more than 3,300 applications for approximately 235 seats in the first-year class.
Admission to Florida State Law is a competitive process. The median GPA for applicants enrolled in our 2009 entering class is 3.53, and the average Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score is 161.
*Application deadline is April 1.
