What advice would you give to a prospective law student?  Calm down, enjoy the present — you have plenty of time to think and worry about law school when you get there.  Take care of your business now so that you can get done what must be done to get into and attend law school.

What do you like most about the law school? The students and the atmosphere they help create.

What would you say is unique about Florida State University College of Law?  The student camaraderie and mind set that we're all in this together — competitive but not cut-throat.

What is your current favorite legal case and why?  A series of cases on the rights of enemy combatants: Hamdi v. Rumsfeld(2004), Hamdan v. Rumsfeld (2006), and Boumediene v. Bush(2008).  These cases speak to the central question in the struggle against terrorism: How do we effectively fight terrorism and uphold the highest moral tradition of the United States? One of my interests is in the extent of executive power in the foreign policy arena.  These cases are a prime example of that.

What would you say makes Tallahassee a unique city to live and study law in?  Almost every major Florida firm has an office in Tallahassee, making for some unique employment opportunities. Also, Tallahassee is the center of state politics, providing a different path for students to take. Studying law in a big college town is certainly unique.

What is your favorite community event in Tallahassee?  Florida State University football games. They really are not just school events but are community events.

What are your current legal areas of interest?  Currently I am interested in politics, government and alternative dispute resolution.

What class at the College of Law would you consider to be most beneficial thus far and why?  Constitutional Law I. I love the intricacies and nuances of the powers of government. Having success in this class further proved to me that I could enjoy a high level of success in law school.

As of right now, what are your plans once you graduate from law school?  Either join the JAG Corps or find a job in government or politics.

Have you been involved with any legal internships while a student at the College of Law? I am an intern with the Leon County Public Defender's Office.

What states do you currently plan to practice law in? Florida and Washington, D.C.

What clubs & organizations are you involved with at the law school?  The American Constitution Society, the Democratic Law Student Association, the Student Bar Association and Student Ambassadors.

What are your interests outside of law?  I enjoy basketball refereeing and politics.

What organizations and activities were you involved with as an undergraduate student? I was in Pi Sigma Alpha, Phi Sigma Tau, the director of intramurals, an intramural referee and training supervisor.
