Virtual Tour: Ausley House
The Ausley-Stanley house, the fourth house moved to the Village Green, was originally located in Quitman, Georgia. The main portion of the house was built just prior to the Civil War and was a one-story balloon frame structure with an attic located over a central room. In the late 1890s, the second floor and front porch were added, reflecting the Victorian influences of the day. Wooden fluted columns line the wrap-around porch.
The house was purchased by the Stanley family in 1862 and remained in the family until the early 1900s. It was donated by FSU alumni Mr. and Mrs. Henry Worfman and Mrs. Ginger Whitaker. The Florida State University Law Review journal offices are located in the Ausley House.
