The Village Green

The Village Green project is part of a plan to make FSU College of Law a more intimate institution, encouraging both academic pursuits and stronger bonds with the outside community.
Conceived by former dean Talbot "Sandy" D'Alemberte, the Green is based on models of the English Inns of Court and Thomas Jefferson's famous rotunda and lawn at the University of Virginia. Situated east of B.K. Roberts Hall the Village Green project consists of a red brick rotunda building connected to Roberts Hall, four-pillared 19th century white frame houses and a connecting colonnade walkway. The walkway's ceremonial main entrance is on Martin Luther King Boulevard, directly across the street from the First District Court of Appeal. The Village Green was constructed between 1985 and 1989 and officially dedicated in 1993 as the James Harold Thompson Green.
