Large Attachments

The size limit for attachments on the Exchange e-mail servers is approximately 20 MB. Attachments exceeding 20 MB will automatically be removed from any e-mail sent or received on the Exchange servers. Compression format files (such as .rar, .tar.gz, .zip, .gzip, or any other archive file) will be stripped from e-mails if they contain an .exe file or another potentially dangerous file type.

In lieu of sending large attachments and potentially exceeding the quota of your mailbox, consider using the FSU Dropbox Service

Email Clients

These are the programs used to check your e-mail. They include Outlook, mobile devices, Thunderbird, Entourage, etc. Navigate this section to learn how to configure the client application you are using

You can also check your e-mail via the web through Exchange.

Email Retention Policy

You may only keep your Exchange (@law.fsu.edu) account for at least 6 months after you leave FSU (you are no longer an employee and not an FSU Retiree). If you have been gone for 6-9 months and have not accessed your account for 30 days, your account will be deleted. You will receive a notice email approximately two weeks before your account is to be deleted, giving you time to forward the email address to another personal email account.
