Laptop Requirements

All incoming students are required to have a modern laptop computer which can access the law school's wireless network. These computers will be used for legal research, computer-based exams, and in-class participation.

Below are the MINIMUM requirements needed to support computing at the law school. It is highly recommended that all incoming students purchase a new laptop with a 4 year warranty.

Only genuine, U.S.-English, French, Portuguese, Swedish, and British versions of Windows Operating Systems are supported. Tablets are not currently supported with the exception of the Surface Pro tablet. Windows 10 S, Windows RT, and Linux / Unix operating systems are not currently supported by the examination software used at FSU College of Law.
