TALLAHASSEE — On February 24, 2020, the College of Law will welcome alumnus Bob Rice (’79) as the featured speaker for the Inaugural Amelia Rea Maguire Business Law Lecture. Rice, a best-selling author and popular keynoter at financial industry events, will present Defining Your Value in the Digital Age. Rice’s talk will address how executives and lawyers can maintain their leading roles as economic contributors in this era of big data and artificial intelligence, where routine management decisions and basic legal functions have become ever more prey to automation. He will show why and how those who embrace and prepare for the new reality will be able to deliver unique and crucial value in a hyperdynamic, digital economy. The College of Law is delighted to host this event with the College of Business in Tallahassee at the University Center Club. You are invited to learn more and RSVP on the website.

In addition to his speaking and writing achievements, Rice has had a successful career that spans law, technology and business, and he now runs Tangent Capital, a New York broker-dealer and consultancy specializing in private securities. Rice is also teaching The Law & Business of Investment Management at the law school this semester. Special thanks to alumna Amelia Rea Maguire (’86) for creating the business law lecture series to bring high-level business practitioners and lawyers to the FSU community to share their experiences and insights.
